GoalAwayPlan a trip

KNOW WHAT YOU SHARE 🔐

Your trip. Clear boundaries.

GoalAway does not ask for your email, home address, card details, or bank login. Shared trips use invite links and private access keys.

What is stored online

Saving a trip stores its destination, dates, group size, budget assumptions, and the members’ nicknames, emojis, and manually entered savings totals in GoalAway’s hosted database. The service also stores timestamps and hashed access identifiers to apply editing permissions. Draft changes stay in the open planner until you save them.

What your group sees

Joined members can see the shared trip budget, nicknames, and savings totals of everyone in that trip. Members cannot edit another person’s savings. The organizer controls trip details and invitations. No invitations, messages, or notifications are sent automatically by GoalAway.

Your private access key

Your browser stores a private access key so you can return without email sign-up. “My private access link” lets you use the same key on another device. Anyone who has this private link can access and act as your GoalAway identity, so keep it private and use only devices you trust. The key is not an email address or a bank credential.

Trip invites

Anyone with a valid trip invite may join until all spots are filled. Send it only to the people you want in the group. Replacing an invite link blocks future joins through that old link; it does not remove existing members. Invite and recovery secrets are carried in the link fragment and sent only to GoalAway when you use them.

Removing a trip

The organizer’s “Remove trip” action hides the trip from members and disables access through its invite. Undo restores it while the page remains open. Removal is reversible and is not permanent deletion of the database record. Clearing browser data removes that browser’s private key, not the online trip records; keep a private access link if you want to recover access.

Hosting and service protection

The app has no advertising trackers or marketing forms. The hosting provider may process connection and request information to operate and secure the site. GoalAway uses temporary hashed connection identifiers to limit excessive trip creation. The stored request-limit records expire and are cleaned up during later creation requests. External websites linked from these pages have their own policies.
